64 minutes: a collaborative film

This year, we concentrated on one big project that unfolded in chronological sequence over 5-6 months. Basically, we compiled 64 minutes of film, one minute at a time, in the structure of an exquisite corpse, where the last 6 seconds of 1 minute of film inspires the next 1 minute of film, and so on and so forth.

Now, 64 is a super beautiful number. For the sake of time, there are 4 threads of film, each 16-minutes long. The first minute and the last minute are the same for all 4 threads, unifying everything and creating a loop (see 64 logo).

The last minute was shot over the course of 1 day at Beulahland, on Friday, August 7th, in a super collaborative blow-out. We had costumes, marching, the fun machine, vivid colors, skulls, Queen Anne's lace--all culminating at the cauldron in Beulah Bog.

The kruntry red carpet world premiere took place on Saturday, August 8th. The 4 threads were presented in two different ways: projected on 4 silver tarp screens that were integrated into the woods just past the Thicket Cathedral, as well as in a grid, on the side of the house.
